Breed and Season-Specific Methane Conversion Factors Influence Methane Emission Factor for Enteric Methane of Dairy Steers

چکیده
This study determined the breed and season-specific methane (CH4) conversion factor (Ym) emission (EF) for enteric CH4 of dairy steers. The Ym values Holstein Jersey steers at different seasons were calculated using IPCC 2006 equations by incorporating input and/or output value chemical composition feed, production, yield, dry matter intake, energy emission. EFs categorized into five types depending on 2019 refinement to Tier 2 used. EFA was from Equation 10.21A (New), while other estimated 10.21 which designated according gross intake (GEI) as EFB (GEIi Ym), EFC (GEIii EFD (6.3)), EFE (4.0)). overall 4.90 7.49, recorded EF group 56.44 67.42 kg CH4/head/year steers, respectively. For overestimated (75.91 vs. 48.20~58.15), in EFF underestimated (kg CH4/head/year) compared others (40.15 63.24~73.28) (p < 0.05). Mixed analysis revealed that influenced all groups, season, × season EFC, EFD, EFF. results recommended breed-specific estimation

Enteric Methane Emission from Pigs
The modern pig industry rely on relatively few feedstuffs mostly from cereals (corn, wheat, barley, oats, rye and rice), cereal co-products (different milling fractions, residues from biofuel and alcohol industries, etc.), cereal substitutes (tapioca, maniocca), legumes (peas, beans, lupins), protein concentrates (meal or cakes of soybean, rape, sunflower, cotton) and co-products from the sugar...
متن کاملComparison of models for estimating methane emission factor for enteric fermentation of growing-finishing Hanwoo steers
The methodology provided by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) guidelines is widely used for estimating enteric methane (CH4) production by cattle. No attempt other than the default values in the IPCC Tier 1 has been made for estimating CH4 emission from Hanwoo, a dominant beef species in Korea raised in a unique feeding system. The objective of this study was to compare model...
متن کاملEstimation of the Methane Emission Factor for Buffalo Cattle and Bulls
In order to determine the incidence of buffaloes on enteric CH4 emissions, information about animal production and farm management was analyzed and the CH4 emission factor estimated using the IPCC Tier 2 model. CH4 emission factor for the category of buffalo cattle and buffalo bulls was estimated for the period 2000-2007, in Italy, Europe and worldwide. During 2007, the CH4 emission factor for ...

A state-wise assessment of methane (CH(4)) budget for Indian paddies, based on a decadal measurement data across India is presented for the calendar year (CY) 1994, the base year for India's Initial National Communication (NATCOM) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), along with national trend from CY 1979 to 2006. The NATCOM CH(4) emission factors (EFs) for Ind...
متن کاملMethane Emission by Camelids
Methane emissions from ruminant livestock have been intensively studied in order to reduce contribution to the greenhouse effect. Ruminants were found to produce more enteric methane than other mammalian herbivores. As camelids share some features of their digestive anatomy and physiology with ruminants, it has been proposed that they produce similar amounts of methane per unit of body mass. Th...
